The GR2-9.3D-A Wire Rope Isolator is a miniature all-metal isolation component developed for sensitive equipment that must remain stable under continuous vibration, sudden impact and repeated movement.
With a height of only 19 mm, an approximate weight of 0.06 kg and a compact 21 mm-wide structure, it is particularly suitable for systems where installation space and payload weight are strictly limited. Typical examples include professional imaging equipment, aerial surveying payloads, airborne communication modules and compact precision instruments.
The isolator uses Φ3.3 mm stainless steel wire rope as its elastic and damping element. When external vibration or shock acts on the equipment, relative movement between the individual wire strands creates frictional damping, helping reduce transmitted energy without using rubber or liquid damping materials.
Key Features
The compact 19 mm structure allows the GR2-9.3D-A to be installed inside small camera platforms, UAV payload modules and lightweight communication enclosures.
At approximately 0.06 kg per unit, the isolator adds minimal weight to airborne and portable systems while providing mechanical protection for sensitive components.
The stainless steel cable loops provide elastic support while friction between the strands dissipates energy. The product can therefore function as both a Wire Rope Vibration Damper and a Wire Rope Shock Absorber.
The cable structure can respond to compression, shear and combined loading. This makes it suitable for equipment exposed to vibration from several directions rather than from only one fixed axis.
The all-metal structure is designed for applications involving frequent take-off, landing, transportation shock and platform movement, where repeated loading may shorten the life of ordinary rubber mounts.
A, B, C, D, E and S mounting configurations provide greater freedom when designing compact equipment brackets and internal support structures.

The GR2-9.3D-A helps reduce the vibration and shock energy reaching cameras, sensors, circuit boards and communication components, lowering the risk of loose connections, image instability and mechanical fatigue.
Because it contains no rubber damping element, the Cable Isolator is suitable for environments involving temperature variation, moisture, UV exposure, oils and other conditions that may accelerate elastomer aging.
Stainless steel wire rope provides high fatigue resistance under repeated deformation. The isolator does not suffer from the cracking, hardening or permanent aging commonly associated with conventional rubber components.
The passive all-metal structure requires no power supply, lubrication or routine replacement of damping media, making it suitable for equipment that is difficult to access after installation.
The GR2 family includes several sizes and load ranges. Engineers can select an appropriate model according to equipment mass, mounting arrangement and required displacement rather than redesigning the complete support structure.
Why Choose HOAN GR2 Series?
HOAN’s GR2 series is developed for miniature and lightweight equipment requiring reliable protection in limited installation spaces.
The series offers:
From aerial cameras and surveying payloads to onboard communication equipment, the GR2 series provides a compact isolation solution for applications where system weight, installation space and mechanical reliability must be considered together.
Typical Applications
The isolator can be integrated into camera mounts, stabilized imaging platforms and optical assemblies to help reduce vibration transmitted to lenses and sensors.
Its lightweight structure makes it suitable for mapping cameras, compact LiDAR modules, multispectral sensors and other airborne payloads where every gram affects flight endurance.
The product can protect small communication terminals, data transmission modules, antennas and onboard electronic assemblies from aircraft or UAV vibration.
The GR2-9.3D-A can be used in compact EO/IR systems, observation platforms and stabilized sensor housings requiring reliable multidirectional isolation.
It is also suitable for monitoring devices, navigation units, measurement modules and other portable equipment exposed to handling or transportation shock.
